On 29th September, four of Barrington James’ top consultants swapped their work clothes for their trainers to take on Tough Mudder to support St Catherine’s Hospice, a community hospice close to the Barrington James Head Office in Horley.
Alex Coppen, Cara Burnett, Claire Stapley, and Ethan Maynard covered 5km and 13 mud and water-based obstacles and whilst they enjoyed the day they remained focused on why they set out to do it in the first place as they explain:
“When we got the opportunity to take on Tough Mudder for St Catherine’s Hospice we all were really excited about the challenge we were being set but we soon found out it was nothing compared to the challenges that St Catherine’s Hospice face on a daily basis. We are so happy to have raised £1,050 for such a good cause and far exceeded our hopes of raising £500.00!”
Suzanne Davis, corporate fundraiser at St Catherine’s, says: “We are extremely aware that our work, as important as it is, can only continue with the help and generosity of our local community and local companies like Barrington James. For every person we can help, there are two others we can’t. Your support really can be the difference between someone who is dying having our support – or not. By raising more than £1,000, Barrington James’ Tough Mudder team are helping us be there for local people when life comes full circle. We can’t thank them enough.”
