Recruitment is competitive, only the fittest survive. On top of that, there are just under 20,000 recruitment companies registered in the UK. That’s a whole lot of competition to be up against.

So rather than competing to recruit within every single sector, we went one better and made sure we were niche, and there are certainly reasons for that.

Why? Because essentially, everybody gets sick. As negative as it may sound, there will always be a need for medicine, cures for diseases, advancements in medical devices and so on. Barrington James operate within the private sector globally, so it’s our job to make sure that we are placing only the best candidates into some of the biggest pharmaceutical, clinical, medical device and biotech companies on the planet.

The market is consistently buoyant, which means the services that Barrington James supply will constantly be in demand. Job security (especially after BREXIT) was the talk of the town, with 70% of employers receiving concerns from staff. Luckily our consultants don’t have to worry about that.

The second reason why we only operate within the pharmaceutical market is because we train our consultants to be experts in their field. Whether it’s regulatory affairs or finding the next CRO, each consultant strives to enrich their knowledge of their specialist field. The way we look at it, is that we would rather be the best recruitment consultancy in pharma than an ‘average’ agency that recruits for 4 or 5 different sectors.
