Job Description
Key Responsibilities:
- Achieve and surpass sales targets and other key performance indicators (KPIs).
- Develop and implement a robust business development strategy in line with organizational growth goals and departmental plans.
- Identify and prioritize target markets and clients aligned with the company’s strengths and strategic objectives.
- Build and sustain strong relationships with key decision-makers in pharmaceutical, biotechnology, and medical device companies.
- Identify and engage potential clients, assess their needs, and present tailored service solutions to win new business.
- Lead the preparation of proposals, contracts, and presentations for prospective clients.
- Negotiate project budgets and scopes to ensure alignment with client needs and company capabilities.
- Conduct market research to uncover industry trends, growth opportunities, and competitive insights.
- Provide strategic input on industry trends and client demands to guide the business direction and service offerings.
- Collaborate with internal teams such as Clinical Operations, Project Delivery, Resourcing, and Finance to ensure smooth project execution and client satisfaction.
- Mentor sales team members, promoting a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
- Report regularly to senior management on business development activities, pipeline progress, and revenue forecasts.
- Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and networking forums to boost brand presence and generate leads.
- Deliver presentations to industry stakeholders, highlighting the company’s capabilities and services.
- Ensure all business development activities are accurately tracked in the CRM to monitor progress and performance.
- Facilitate smooth project transitions by sharing client expectations with relevant internal teams.
Qualifications:
- Strong communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
- Proven success in sales or marketing management, particularly in the pharmaceutical or CRO industries, with a demonstrated ability to close deals.
- Proficiency with MS Office, Salesforce, and CRM software.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
- Willingness to travel, sometimes on short notice, with efficient travel planning.
- Solid understanding of the clinical research process in a CRO environment.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or Sciences, ideally within the pharmaceutical or clinical research industry.
- 4+ years of experience in sales and business development selling CRO services, preferrably within therapeutic areas such as Oncology & CNS.
- In-depth knowledge of the clinical research industry.
- Previous experience in selling full-service clinical research services is required.
