Job Title: Medical Science Liaison (MSL) - Germany

Position Type: Full-Time

 

Job Summary: We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Medical Science Liaison (MSL) to join our dynamic team in Germany. The MSL will be a key player in developing and maintaining relationships with healthcare professionals (HCPs), opinion leaders, and other key stakeholders within the medical community. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of the scientific landscape in their therapeutic area, excellent communication skills, and the ability to translate complex scientific data into actionable insights. This role will support the implementation of the company’s medical strategy and ensure the alignment of activities with the commercial team.

 

Key Responsibilities:

Medical Expertise and Communication:

  • Serve as a scientific expert on the company’s products and therapeutic areas, providing in-depth knowledge to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Deliver scientific presentations and educational sessions to healthcare professionals, opinion leaders, and other key stakeholders.
  • Respond to unsolicited requests for medical information from HCPs in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Provide training to sales teams on the scientific aspects of the products and relevant disease states.

Relationship Management:

  • Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with key opinion leaders (KOLs), healthcare professionals, and other stakeholders in the medical community.
  • Facilitate scientific discussions and gather insights from KOLs to inform and shape the company’s medical and commercial strategies.
  • Act as a bridge between the company and external experts, ensuring alignment and collaboration on key projects and initiatives.

Support Clinical Development:

  • Collaborate with clinical development teams to support ongoing and planned clinical trials, including site identification, patient recruitment, and study implementation.
  • Provide scientific support for investigator-initiated studies (IIS) and assist in the review and approval process.

Medical Affairs Support:

  • Contribute to the development of medical communication materials, including slide decks, white papers, and publications.
  • Participate in the planning and execution of advisory boards, congresses, symposia, and other scientific meetings.
  • Monitor and report on scientific developments, competitor activities, and emerging trends in the therapeutic area.

Compliance and Ethics:

  • Ensure all activities comply with local regulations, industry standards, and company policies.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant guidelines, such as the German Medicines Act (AMG) and the European Federation of Pharmaceutical Industries and Associations (EFPIA) code.

 

Qualifications:

  • Advanced degree in a relevant scientific or medical field (e.g., MD, PharmD, PhD).
  • Experience in a Medical Science Liaison role, related medical affairs position or previous commercial/sales experience within the life science industry.
  • In-depth knowledge of the German healthcare system and regulatory environment.
  • Proven ability to build and maintain relationships with KOLs and HCPs.
  • Strong presentation and communication skills, both in German and English.
  • Ability to analyse and interpret scientific data and translate it into meaningful insights.
  • Willingness to travel extensively within Germany.
  • Fluent in English

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in a specific therapeutic area relevant to the company’s portfolio (e.g., oncology, cardiology, neurology).
  • Previous experience in clinical research or academic medicine.
  • Familiarity with digital health and emerging technologies in the pharmaceutical industry.
