Integrated Photonics Engineer required to be part of a team to realize first-of-their-kind photonic all-integrated circuits for implementing truly scalable quantum technologies.

 

Responsibilities

  • Design, build and operate high-tech setups to characterize photonic circuits at cryogenic and room-temperature
  • Develop test methods and setups to characterize active and passive large-scale on-chip silicon photonic devices – cryogenic and room-temperature 
  • Characterize on-chip electro-optic devices, as well as photonic integrated circuits and communicate the results 
  • Support the development of on-chip devices by collaborating with and present findings within a team of photonic designers, nanofabrication engineers, test engineers, and physicists 

 

Requirements

  • Master’s or PhD degree in physics, applied physics, electrical engineering, or other relevant discipline 
  • 3+ years of hands-on experience with integrated photonic devices 
  • Hands-on-experience with fibre and/or free-space optics 
  • Strong understanding of photonics, electronics, and electromagnetic compatibility
  • Working experience on developing automated data acquisition, test and analysis scripts 
  • Experience in programming languages like Python and MATLAB 
  • Hands-on experience with cryogenic systems is a plus 
  • Hands-on experience with RF instruments is a plus
