Quantum Optics Specialist required to help scale and improve a quantum-enhanced lidar platform.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Lead projects from conceptualization to implementation, making strategic decisions and providing regular updates to top management
  • Design, develop, implement, and test the next-generation quantum-enhanced sensor prototypes being developed at Phantom Photonics labs
  • Collaborate with a team of physicists, engineers, and software developers to integrate new solutions and enhance system functionality. Mentor and train junior team members.
  • Conduct rigorous testing and validation of new technologies and models to ensure they meet industry standards and project specifications.
  • Stay abreast of technological advancements and industry trends in quantum optics and remote sensing to inform strategic decision-making and technological adoption.
  • Represent Phantom Photonics at conferences, workshops, expos, and other relevant industry events to promote our technologies and engage with the scientific and professional community.

 

Requirements:

  • The ideal candidate will possess hands-on experience with lasers, detectors, and electrical equipment, showcasing expertise in a quantum optics or general optics laboratory setting
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in an optics laboratory, preferably in a quantum optics lab (experience with aligning free-space optics will be considered an asset).
  • Proficiency with Class 1-4 lasers, single-photon sources and detectors, oscilloscopes, spectrometers, beam profilers, photodetectors, function generators, time taggers, and other relevant laboratory equipment.
  • Competency in data processing using LabVIEW, C++, MATLAB, or Python.
