Senior Optical Design Engineer

Are you an experienced Senior Optical Design Engineer looking to make a meaningful impact in the field of ophthalmology? We are seeking a Senior Optical Design Engineer to join our client's innovative team in West Sussex. In this role, you will play a key part in the development of cutting-edge optical systems that enhance vision care and improve patient outcomes.

Responsibilities:

• Optical Design & Development: Design, prototype, and test IOL's, including specification development.
• Technical Leadership: Lead cross-departmental project teams in developing new ophthalmic products from concept to manufacturing.
• Product & Process Improvement: Assess and enhance products, processes, and systems to improve effectiveness, quality, and efficiency.
• Innovation & Research: Generate and develop innovative research ideas, including next-generation products.
• Advanced Optics Application: Solve complex technical challenges in product development, improvement, and manufacturing.
• Design Verification & Validation: Develop new protocols and techniques for design verification and validation.

Essential Skills:

• Masters or PhD in physics or relevant technical discipline
• Zemax optical design software experience
• At least 1 years of experience within Ophthalmology
• MATLAB software experience
• Expert knowledge of optical design principles and test methods
