This Associate Director of Business Development position is with an International Preclinical CRO looking to expand its US presence. This is a dynamic role where the individual will be responsible for promoting and selling preclinical contract services directly to scientists, no previous sales experience required.

The company highly emphasizes relationship building with its clients and has one of the most well-regarded reputations and some of the most highly-trained scientists to deliver the clients’ preclinical needs including: safety pharmacology, formulation analysis, biomarker assays, cell biology, in vitro screening, and more.

With a variety of species available, cross-trained scientists in most therapeutic areas, and over 30 years of experience, it’s easy to express to clients why they should use this service provider!

The Associate Director of Business Development will perform a dynamic function including prospecting for new clients, developing relationships, communicating company’s capabilities with scientists at prospective clients, and winning new business.

This is a highly supported function including a 2-week training at company headquarters in Europe, a marketing team to develop promotion materials, a lead-generation subscription, a database containing over 30 years of clients and previous business, a weekly team Skype-meeting, and an executive team with an open-door policy.

This individual must be within the Greater Boston area and will work remotely with up to 50% travel.

 

The ideal candidate will have:

-A Bachelor’s degree in a scientific field (required)

-A Master’s degree in a scientific field (preferred)

-2-5 years of lab experience, or supplemental experience working directly with scientists

-2+ years working in the Pharmaceutical Industry

-Ability to travel up to 50% of the time on the East Coast, US

-Ability to travel up to 10% of time internationally

-Residence in the Greater Boston Area

-Exceptional communication skills

-A drive to work in sales/business development
