My client represents the German generic business with a focus on the German tender market. With a mission to grow the company by launching new products and to optimize the current portfolio, they are looking to extend their growth with a BD&L Manager based in their German office to help grow the business internationally.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Global In-Licensing of relevant molecules
  • Identification of licensors and assessment of license and supply offers considering the specifics of the German generic tender market as well as international markets
  • Negotiation of offers, in particular supply terms and conditions
  • Compilation of business cases and investment plans including presentation to the management and internal committees
  • Selection of partners in cooperation with adjacent departments like Procurement, Quality, Medical Affairs, Portfolio and Tender management
  • Responsible realization of contract negotiations until execution of the agreement and hand over to competent internal departments
  • Optimization of supply terms and conditions by renegotiation with existing partners
  • Establishment of a license and supplier network and the according maintenance
  • Monitoring of changes in the market and competition environment
  • Attendance at license and trade fairs

Minimum requirements:

  • Pharmacist
  • 5+ years’ experience in Business Development & Licensing within a international pharmaceutical industry
  • Sound knowledge of the German and European generics market including its mechanisms and regulatory processes

Additional requirements:

  • Knowledge about the German tender market and its mechanisms
  • Good know-how in the areas Regulatory Affairs, Intellectual Property, Pharmaceutical Development, Project Management and contractual law
  • Comprehensive experience in contract negotiations with a successful track record
  • Business fluent in English
  • Willingness to travel internationally
